One of the best things about the summer in New York City isn’t in New York City at all. I’m talking about the weekend getaway! Spend a short hour or so in a car or on a train, and enter a hidden world where the air smells so good you’ll swear your travel companions are applying delicious smelling lotions (true story-  it was the air! Air that smelled like flowers!). Last weekend I did just that, and while my time out of the city was lovely, the best part about a weekend away is always coming home- flowered air be damned.

First up: Lunch and shopping in Rhinebeck, where we found the most delicious honey on the planet, but not quite delicious enough for the $37 price tag.DSCF4799 DSCF4807 DSCF4811 DSCF4820Next on to  Growing Heart Farm, for a tour, yoga, music, dinner, and lots of new friendsDSCF4848DSCF4847DSCF4841DSCF4846DSCF4884DSCF4910DSCF4915DSCF4925DSCF4908Finishing a little closer to home, checkout the wildlife!DSCF4957 DSCF4976 DSCF4977Next weekend we keep it local, where will you be going?

From Spain, With Love

Our design team went to Spain and all we got were these lousy awesome espadrilles! If you follow Miz Mooz on Instagram you’ve already peeped a few of them (and if you don’t, go do it right now pleaseandthankyou), but those are just the tip of our Spanish iceberg, as it were. You’re going to have to wait a few weeks longer to find out what else we’ve been working on in Spain- spoiler alert: you’ll love it- but in the meantime, check out these babies! DSCF4613DSCF4616DSCF4645DSCF4625DSCF4641DSCF4627and of course they come in black!DSCF4632Snag your self a pair (or 2) here

Coney Island Mermaid Parade!

Miz Mooz has always had a soft spot for Coney Island, we even designed a whole collection around the neighborhood! Of course we never miss unofficial beginning of summer and celebration of all things Coney, the Mermaid Parade! This spectacle of costumed revelers was started in 1983 as a way to showcase the seaside history and local pride of the neighborhood. Technically a parade, it  is more akin to West African Water Festivals and Ancient Greek and Roman street theater than to our modern day versions- and if you ask me- a lot more fun! But you don’t have to take my word for it, even our NYC Mayor agrees!
