Our first love will alway be NYC, but San Francisco holds a special place in our hearts too! Here Sushmitha Gururaj shares what she loves about the Bay Area- we can't wait until our next visit!

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area is something I’m grateful for on a daily basis. The sights are beautiful, the people are diverse as is the food, and the weather is… well, hit or miss. But you get the point! Here are some of my favorite spots in my neck of the woods.

The Mission District is where I find the spirit of San Francisco. Balmy Alley’s graffitied walls will unfailingly voice opinions, locals run small and big businesses alike with grit and there’s mouthwatering food at every turn (Hiiii, Garden Creamery!)

If you want classic San Francisco, Pacific Heights is where it’s at. Fillmore Street has Instagrammable cafés and boutiques at high frequency and Alta Plaza park offers grand views of the bay, but my top activity of choice is always to gawk at the endless rows of stately Victorian homes.

Golden Gate Park is a sprawling ~1000 acres of green gorgeousness with something for everyone- stop and smell the roses at the Botanical Gardens, get your thinking cap on at the California Academy of Sciences, soul searchers will live the Japanese Gardens, the list goes on. I love watching the rowers on Stow Lake on a foggy afternoon, moody San Francisco at its best.
